In Riga and the Riga region, water comes from different sources

In Riga's centre and in neighbourhoods of apartment blocks, buildings get water from the mains (public water supply), and a private source is rare there. In neighbourhoods of private houses there are both houses connected to the city network and houses with their own well, spike well (“spice” in Latvian) or borehole. A spike well for watering the garden is often installed even where drinking water comes from the network.

In the Riga region the picture is different. Town centres usually have mains water, but in many villages, new private housing areas and summer house areas, houses use their own source. That is where a new spike well or borehole, a pump, a filter or well cleaning is needed most often.

On each place's page we write only what can be checked about it: what the buildings are like, whether there is a water main and what the local water utility sets. We never state groundwater depth or iron content without a source, because they can differ even between neighbouring plots.

How we work outside Riga

In Riga and the Riga region the work and prices are the same: spike well from €350, borehole from €65/m, well cleaning from €150. We add travel of about €0.90/km only if the address is outside the Riga region. If you need several jobs at one address, for example a new spike well and a water test, write them in one request.

Useful in the request: the exact address, information about the existing source (depth, age, pump type) and access: whether machinery can drive onto the plot and where the septic tank is. Worked examples: prices.
